Hello, I thought this could be a good place to ask.
I'm embarking on an ambitious documentary looking at Citizens Assemblies; past, future and ones currently in progress - what hope can they hold for bringing our democracies closer to something fit for purpose? What makes a CA effective?
We're shooting this year and will have a small budget. I'm seeking a presenter ideally from an under represented demographic in politics. Eg. Isobel Young (VICE) who can do the interviewing (and maybe some bits to camera; we can play with it).
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏼✨

Hi Luke - thanks for this post, sounds exciting and much needed! How much of an expert do they need to be on CAs, and when will it take place? I have a background in community engagement and presenting (mainly live, e.g. science shows, talks etc.) and have been active in XR for the past 2 years, largely samba and outreach. In the last rebellion i delivered and trained people on Train Talks and over the summer took part in the Trust the People training. Super interested in climate assemblies and alternative democratic tools (curious, but not an expert!), and keen to run some as part of our Climate Action Network at work. Interested in how this complements other organising work such as by Citizens UK. Give me a shout if this sounds like a good fit! :)
