I propose to make it a requirement to donate 1000 keys or 3500 USD equivalent in fiat or crypto currency to become or remain a voteholder. Closed Sat 7 Jul 2018 4:03AM

I propose to make it a requirement to donate 1000 keys or 3500 USD equivalent in fiat or crypto currency to become or remain a voteholder.

As we move over onto truly decentralized, blockchain based currency distribution systems such as our upcoming fork of loomio and Aragon, it will no longer be possible to remove someones voting ability once they have it.

Because of this, and also because the EN is seemingly suffering from a lack of pay it forward generosity, i move to make it a requirement for all new and existing voteholders to donate 1000 Keys or 3500 USD equivalent to become a lifetime voteholder.

This will ensure all voteholders are abundant and generous, enabling us to create a culture that matches an abundant and generous frequency.

This particular proposal will also remove me from being the most powerful voteholder in the EN. I currently hold the votes of 17 delegates. Nearly all of these delegates will be unable or unwilling to donate keys or the equivalent amount of currency.

  1. This affects my voting status. 2. I believe when EN was founded we didn't want our powers to be decided by those simply with high financial advantage. That standard should not change.

After thoughtful consideration of why and what this means. An EN voteholder holds great responsibility like a seat on the United Nations. All voteholders must be fully committed to co-steering this ship. The best stewards are heavily invested.

Noting that two blocks are from people who are NOT voteholders. An EN voteholder holds great responsibility like a seat on the United Nations. All voteholders must be fully committed to co-steering this ship. The best stewards are heavily invested.

This feels like a forced extortion of voting power in order to accrue currency. There are more appropriate ways for Dakota to restablish an equal voting share, and to ensure voting parties are committed. For many, this is financially unviable.

Can we agree that nothing worthwhile results from force? Keys are 2.82 not 3.5?

I see it more like this. To be a vote holder you must be an EN member for at least 1 year and have contributed x, y, z or 1, 2,3. Time and resources need to be valued and time allowed for proper training in the socioeconomic culture. Then small fee
