Youth Nationals (Anaheim - Volunteers needed)

CF Christopher Francisco Public Seen by 9

Hey everyone.... Pedro from USAW has approached Nghiep about getting volunteers for loaders again for Youth Nationals here in Anaheim. I just wanted to bring this up to the board to see how we can spearhead this and assist in spreading word. We have a couple months to prepare. Since it's on our turf, it would be great to get local help of course. Nghiep will also ask about monetary compensation, but of course not guaranteed, but I know food vouchers will most likely be available. Just bringing this to the table for discussions as needed.

I'm willing to help in whatever way needed. Would I be wrong to assume volunteers need to be 18+ btw? If not, I have at least one youth athlete that I think would be eager to volunteer. Maybe we can spread the word and get an official message out to the LWC both via email and social media to ask people to contact us?

Thanks Erik! 18+ is best, but I'm certain we can have younger help with parent/ guardian signatures. I'm trying to work out details on compensation per platform before setting up announcements. I'm expecting some sort of monetary agreement with Pedro as Nghiep is trying to settle that. Once we get something solid, then it's on to promote and push to our LWC through our social media network.

Awesome! I let the kid I had in mind know and he is very interested.

Chris, is there a bulletin or announcement as well as a sign up sheet that we can put into an email and send out to the LWC?

Hey Chris... I'm going to discuss further with Nghiep later this week but we don't have anything formal yet as we're still trying to nail down monetary compensation before formal announcements. I'll definitely keep you all posted. There's talks about assigning a local club to a platform and then be responsible for scheduling that entire weekend.

Okay sounds good. Let's chat at Seniors this weekend and come up with a plan of action on how the LWC can be involved.

I will pass on the info to LWC members in my area about volunteering at youth nationals. I will be happy to help! Unfortunately, I won't be at Nationals this year, but let me know if there is anything I can do to contribute

Hello everyone... with late registration officially closed for Youth Nationals Champs, looks like there will be 3 platforms per session. As mentioned in our last meeting, Hasslefree will be in charge of two platforms which leaves our LWC with the responsibility of one platform. (Nghiep has informed Erik and I that he will step down from responsibilities so we'll take it from here.) We have yet to determine which color we're in charge of, but I don't think it makes a huge difference though so I wanted to get the volunteer list going. In addition to the help needed for loaders, Pedro has asked us to seek volunteers for 4 additional roles which are listed in the Google sheet. Please check the following link to see if you have access and feel free to start adding names. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z5T39NovzZf6D1_g4TOQGNKfO1FbRmEL/view?usp=drivesdk

Just a quick update. Pedro assigned us to the Blue Platform and requested 10 additional volunteers per session for other roles. Please use the same Google sheet link I sent previously as I've updated with specifics. Unfortunately, Pedro is unable to give volunteers free parking in case anyone inquires.
