Articles of incorporation (or other useful docs) - knowledge share?

I Ivana Public Seen by 111

I want to set up a fairshare coop to provide certain services - so fishing around for ideas as to how to go about it

My project will have founders, investors, users and workers and it will be offering online paymnet services - and in that way it will be competing with purely for profit ran enterprises. We will also be for profit - but our profits will be shared between all members AND environment. Why? Because almost all human activity, especially economic activty, does harm to the planet in some way. It either uses natural resources or it pollutes or it does both, and in most cases that is considered normal, the resulting pollution is considered just one of those things that nobody has to deal with and almost nobody wants to either. But to survive on this planet, we have to change that. To be able to live on it, we have clean up far more than we pollute - every day of our existence. So what I'm looking to do is: together with others people running a for profit fairshare enterprise, and returning most profits to projects that clean and green the planet.

IN a nutshell - the services I offer are not for the benefit of the environment, especially, but hte profits they will generate - are.

Looking through the fairshare sefl-study material at the moment, and looking for people who have already set up a fairshare enterprise and who'd be willing to share their knowledge and/or experience, any documentation they may have written (minus the confidential bits, personal data etc) that they'd be willing to share with me - so I can learn and write something adapted to my own needs.

I'm espeically interested in ideas as to how this 'return to environment' could be formalised. I cannot issue shares to the environment, can I? Or can I?

Hope everyone is well and busy in a nice way.

Wising you all Happy End of the Year Holidays

Thank you for reading. Looking forward to your thoughts.

There seems to be lots of good stuff happening in NZ... Thanks for your message, glad you're interested and will have a read through the link you sent... Inspiration is one of the things we all need.

Hi Graham. Thanks for your post. Will defintely be in touch. I started listening to some of yrou talks on youtube, to get to feel of what is being done in evolutesix. I also want to write something up about what I propose to do - so I can share a bit more details of what the actual idea is and therefore get some feedback, insights etc. Will get in touch over the next day or two.

My thinking is in its infancy, I'm sure, but I didn't want to govern any land (other than what I 'own' and even that is too much sometimes). What I did want is to somehow invite all users of my project to take action themselves on any land: be it privately owned, communal, locked in land trust. The important thing is to do the right things - regardless who owns the land. This is partly because I don't know much about setting up trusts and such and feel that that would take up a lot of time and energy, which may be better spent elsewhere? I'd leave such things to people who are qualitfied for them. But right now all options are open. Anyway, I was thinking about using something like co-budget to invite everybody to propose projects, invite other people to do so, vote for them and freely decide where they want to send their portion of the 'bucket'. https://cobudget.co/#/

Ivana,

If you are going through a thought process with your fellow cooperators, these documents will guide you in answering questions to help set up a FairShares enterprise.

Use 08b first, then transfer results to 08.

I was in two minds whether to post this here or not, but decided to do it - to be able to get more feedback, comments, ideas etc. The idea is described in the atachment. If you think it is not appropriate, please let me know.

There are many e-wallets out there, but as far as I know none are ran as social enterprises, and none are open source. I got in touch with the authors of this open source solution and they seem great, serious, dedicated.

Would you be interested in joining the project? In what capacity? User, worker, investor, founder? Would you use this solution for your online payments or for your web-shop if you've got one? Would you invite your firends to use it? If not, why not?

My motivation for wanting to do something like this initially comes from something I read on the Bristol Pound project pages - Bristol, UK, apparently pays 60 million GBP in internet payment fees each year. It has less than a million people, so for each person, be it a baby or a 100 year old, at least 60 GBP goes to paypal and other giants each year from that city alone. Imagine how much it adds up to worldwide. Imagine, now, what could be done for the planet with one part of that sum. Every year. By us.

Looking forward to your thoughts.

Ivana
