Event on March 31st?

  1. We would host 2-4 members of the American Nomad Band on May 31st. Mandolin and bass player for sure, maybe others. They would play a 45 min. (unplugged) set in the living room or back yard.

  2. Prior to the music, we would host a “farmhouse gardening day” in the afternoon, followed by a potluck. We will consider where we are at in terms of our garden and focus on what is needed. We may ask a gardening expert to come and support the process. We may need to consider paying them. Myself and Ben both have great people who could support, and would love your suggestions as well (including yourself, as the case may be!).

  3. American Nomad is suggesting $7-15 sliding scale for the music.

  4. We would charge Andrzej an amount of money to “rent” the farmhouse space (The Sandbox has suggested $50-100).

Things to consider:

  1. Noise: We want to make this (first?) event pleasing for our neighbors. Thoughts: a) let’s have the concert early evening . b) The band will be small and unplugged c) We can cap the attendance to 40-50 people. d) invite the neighbors!
  2. Rental Cost: We have not made this decision as a community yet, but need to.
  3. Insurance: Ben and Jay are planning to get insurance for house events. Ben, will this be secured by May 31st?
  4. Supplies: Gina and others have been doing such a kick ass job in getting kitchen materials that will allow us to support food-based events. How do we feel about our ability to host at the end of May?
  5. Timing: Is it too soon? Andrzej wants to confirm American Nomad. We haven’t even had our first house meeting to discuss our systems. Does this feel okay to everyone? Does May 31st feel good?

Super down to help in any way. I'll be going to bottlerock the night before in Napa and then can come through late morning to set up ir grab any supplies. Also...I have done good friends in an awesome band called Highway Poets. Would you like them to come play a set also...or should we stick with one band?
