Second Meeting

AK Aaron Keohane Public Seen by 364

Hi all,

Our first meeting was interesting and I'd like to have another.

1) Would people be open to having another in November?

2) Could people suggest an alternative location? The acoustics in the Dublin Food Coop really were not conducive to a productive meeting.

3) Would people be open to organising a full day of information sharing?

4) In terms of the format of the meeting, I was thinking an Open Space Schedule might be a good idea or some type of focus group sessions or something. (here is a link to a description of the Open Space Schedule).

Im not sure if I can reply to everyone here.

Just to say that I will be away for a couple of months from later this week and although interested in keeping in touch, I will be out of touch.

Cheers,
Davie

I would like to propose Common Ground Bray as a venue for the second meeting. Saturday, the 12th & 26th of November and the 3rd &17th are free at the moment. I have flagged the venue in response to one of Jules' emails. For those of you who haven't heard about Common Ground. The space is easily accessible by public transport (short walk from the Dart and near several bus routes) There is free parking outside. The space has 3 rooms and an outside space that could be used. If this is a space that folk feel might work or if anyone would like more information, you can call me on 0877917066 http://commongroundbray.com/

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered spaces.

@richardtaplin what Saturday or Sundays would the venue be available?

@loukiamoussoulides thanks for the detailed response Loukia. As most people who attended the last meeting are from Dublin I was thinking that t might be best to have it there. Although I'm Wicklow, so maybe it's a lot easier than I think to get out to Bray for most people in Dublin, I could stand to be corrected.

I'm thinking actually that in order to achieve anything satisfactory we're going to have to organise a weekend Open Space conference. I've decided to do it so I'll start another thread about it.

Why not both a meeting and conference? November meet up - and as you posted aaron Jan/feb conference - this would help keep momentum.

Good idea @eileenleahy :)

@richardtaplin would you be able to organise the November one? And I'll make a short presentation at that on the Jan/Feb conferences me we can then sign off on the plans. What dates were you thinking?

A possible strategy? Closed Fri 28 Oct 2016 5:02PM

To agree with this proposal means either acting on, or baring in mind the possibility while doing what needs must.

The PPNs have special policy committees for various sectors, housing included. This list, which is incomplete, shows the census shift, population growth, per town. Growth rates of 9 to 13% in some towns dwarf the 6% Dublin increase. Locating PPN members on SPCs through the relevant municcipal and county ppn representatives lists, a group could be invited to convene around new approaches in areas of acute need, namely those with the hightest growth rates. This is one opportunity to consolidate the scope for action and move forward effectively. Birr/Offaly , checking in.
