Hey good folks, great to hear from/about you all.

I'm Maria and I work with Indra and Pat on The Alternative UK. Stepping in to this space a little late as I've been away on a 10-week Buddhist meditation retreat. I help out with social media and the website, write the occasional blog (https://www.thealternative.org.uk/search?q=maria+dorthea+skov) and co-organise A/UK events, meet-ups and CANs. I came to A/UK through being a part of The Alternative party in Denmark.

My thing is the future of leisure. I studied Leisure Management and to the degree possible I guided my research and projects away from the very commercial practices we were presented with towards the practices of those volunteering their leisure time and their skills to create better futures at all levels and the vast personal wellbeing and meaning they derive from that. I guess my main question of research could be formulated like this - how can we encaurage a leisure that is in creation-mode for the wellbeing of ourselves, each other and our planet, instead of being in the default consumption-mode? - and I'd love to begin a conversation about this with anyone interested. It is all very abstract in my head and I'd love to make it more practical.

Other than that I'm very interested in the individual, personal and internal revolution and keen to create learning clubs/groups that can inspire and support young people (in particular) to embark on this journey and become leaders/innovators/change-makers for the future. Let's talk about this in HOW DO I EQUIP MYSELF FOR THE FUTURE or SHARE LEARNING.

Excited to be back, engage with all this new activity and start co-creating!
