Hey folks,

from what I have been told we are looking for a summer camp space that has a solid kitchen space and water access. I have put together a little info letter based on the prior reports to kind of highlight stuff we are asking for/ need from potential people. I am chasing down a few leaders around Waterloo, Peterborough, etc via my network. If we have a call out already in existence please let me know.

I have narrowed down potential sites! take a look at good drive document.. we really have expensive options with all emenities, or less expensive options with less emenities

Hey folks, for buying land we might want to have a discussion about a cost-sharing model, Community Bonds, via TREC/ TAPESTRY, cost-recovery from the land to finance CMC urban projects (i.e. renting land to shareholders and other parties in offseason in the short term to build up a revenue base), etc. This is me trying to say I have folks who are interested in helping us buy land, but there is going to have to be some kind of agreement in place. It wouldn't hurt to put a Kickstarter together for this goal either. Maybe youth would like to take the lead on some of these things. http://www.trec.on.ca/

yes this is so exciting! I definitely know about community bonds and TREC and totally have it in my head-plan for getting us land to buy haha
so cool you have people in your network that would be down to help us purchase. let's talk more. we had it in our plans so far to get land in 2-3 years when we are a bit more together...but plans change especially when opportunity presents itself ;)

James, I love that you gravitated to these ideas! I am so happy that we are all aligning our vision to buy land and bringing in different perepctives and networks

Again here is the rough chart that I have put together from recommendations from folks in my network. If folks want to review it and say yes or know that would be helpful. Maybe a collaboration/ breakout group at the next CMC Sunday?

hey james thanks for putting in so much research! I still need to take a look at a few of them...just reading the list I know a few that can be scratched off - camp manitou, kawartha, etc. have their own summer camps and early fall programs already in place (and would be a buttload to rent). same with ymca camps - they usually have summer stuff and are way out of our price range for now.
