Papercraft Guide

G GP Public Seen by 12

Since all the content of the Papercraft Guide has been ported to the Papercraft Wiki, and that we have added content to the latter, we may question the need for keeping updated similar guides at the same time. For the same reason, we've removed the Quick Tutorial from the blog. What should we do of our Guide?

One way that we could make it work is someone makes a PDF version of the pages that you want to have available for download and post download links for them... it would take some work(since they would have to be updated every time someone makes an edit), but it would only be until someone can figure out how to make something like that
what do you think?

@darklink13 Too time and resources consuming in my opinion. Those who would do this update could do other, more important things instead, such as improving the wiki itself.

Should we get rid of the Papercraft Guide? Closed Mon 14 Apr 2014 11:08PM

Yes, we are about to make a transition phase by getting rid of the papercraft guide.

Yes : You think that since all content from the Guide was imported in the Wiki, keeping the Papercraft Guide updated is no more necessary. We could instead focus on the wiki, and maybe create a new 'kickstarting' guide.

No : You think that the Papercraft Guide is a valuable creation of our community and that the Wiki will never replace it. Based on this position, we will next consider if we should 'freeze' the Guide or keep it updated at a certain frequency.

The Guide is no more useful for us (it is much harder to supervise than the Wiki).

I feel the current guide should be removed, as long as some other kind of 'quick start' guide is installed in its place for complete beginners

Yes : You want the Papercraft Guide to be replaced with a simple guide on how to begin building papercraft models... now!

No : You want Nintendo Papercraft to instead concentrate its efforts into the Papercraft Wiki.

It's not an as big project as the Guide was, so I'm confident we can do it

Yes: The Starter Guide project is shut down until a new Loomio proposal reboots it.

Agree: We should stop production of a Beginner's Guide, and instead focus on the already-existent documentation (Papercraft Wiki, Papercraft Museum Tutorials, etc.)

Disagree: We should continue to put our focus and energy on the Beginner's Guide, even though the project hasn't started. It'll eventually grow and become what we'd want it to be.

I've been the only one so far working on it and I'm not even sure of its relevance.

I don't know. I like the idea of the beginner's guide, but also want what we already have to be better, so I'll just let the rest decide.

I like the idea of the guide, so maybe we can eventually put a team together for it.
But for now, we can stop if people want
