Invitation to Comment on Discussion Draft 3 of the Revised Statement on the Cooperative Identity

Dear Global Cooperative Identity Consultation Participant:

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to invite your further participation in the global Cooperative Identity consultation and to let you know that Discussion Draft 3 of the revised Statement on the Cooperative Identity is now available for comment. You can find it and a commentary explaining the changes from the 1995 Statement at https://coopidentity.ica.coop. The deadline for comment is 31 July 2026. We invite you to review the draft and to share your views by writing to consultations@ica.coop.

Discussion Draft 3 was prepared following careful consideration by the Cooperative Identity Advisory Group of the comments and recommendations received in response to Discussion Draft 2, released last year. This third discussion draft represents the next step in a consultation process intended to ensure that any final recommendation to make changes to the Identity Statement is informed by a wide range of cooperative voices. The Advisory Group will meet in late August to review the feedback received.

The strength of this consultation depends on meaningful participation from cooperators across all geographic regions and sectors. Your participation is important.
