Freeze access
What do you think about the ability to freeze the list of people who have access to a discussion, so that in the future as the members of a group change, only those who had access at the time of the freeze can see the discussion?
Yes @richarddbartlett
Up to now, we've been hacking around this problem getting @jonlemmon to hide discussions about potential members manually. Obviously that's not scalable. This is a feature we'll definitely need. I guess the only question is, is it a priority? It's something that personally I would find very useful.
We'll scope and prioitise at the workshop. It's a pretty easy feature for a single person to contribute at any time.. I can see the specs now.
Ideally we'll come away from the workshop with really good descriptions of features like this that anyone can pickup and say "I'l do that"
Sounds good to me.
For instance: a discussion like 'Invite Jane Doe to be a member of this group.'The knowledge that Jane may get to read the contents of the discussion put a strong muzzle on anyone who might otherwise want to express some misgivings about her.
In this instance it would be desirable for the admin and/or discussion author to label the discussion as 'Frozen access', so all the participants know they are only sharing with a known group of members.
Is that what you had in mind @robertguthrie?
