Hi all. Is it possible to upload photos of things for the group to vote on? Thanks. Deirdre

We are an ecovillage and a member has some design suggestions for a new sign at the entrance. I'd like to allow people to see what they're voting on, if possible.

I like 2 & 7. Nicely spaced, clear, attractive font and not too big.

If sign 4 is chosen could the Irish text be moved up slightly so it's not at the bottom of the panel?

I think adding any extra words would look too 'busy'. Alternatively, a larger version of the sign, in both languages, could be erected at the Main St entrance?”

I would prefer that the Irish sign is added to the existing wood as the sign looks well without any extra wood added !

Ba cheart Gaeilge agus Béarla a bheith ar chomh-sheasamh ar an bhfógra.

Sign 1 is not quite right. What about a separate sign on the left hand side of the step road entrance with front and back in Irish, or a separate sign at the Coach House entrance. The current sign looks very good to the eye. We could come up with a better bilingual solution. Also not sure about using Cló Gaelach.

I think adding to the current sign would reduce the clarity. It would be better to work on a separate sign for the Main St entrance

Simplicity has to be the key here. This will mainly be used by drivers and while i like the irish addition it shouldnt be confusing. Thanks lots of effort in pulling this together.

I don’t see why we have to add sign in Irish.

I would like the Irish and Englsh to have equal signage space. I believe the translation of Ecovillage to Éiceaphobal is incorrect as the latter is more the Ecocommunity. The Ecocommunity is much wider than the physical Ecovillage so would like to see the correct term.. With gratitude and respect. Jean

Different font = different language?

Hi @deirdreyee. We've had requests for details fields on poll options in the past, too.

I think it's a nice idea, being able to assign an image or more detailed text to a poll option.. We're not able to work on it just now though, so I'm pleased you've come up with a work around. :)

RG

Rob Guthrie Tue 20 Nov 2018 9:47AM

@deirdreyee I would recommend trying the Score poll for collecting the preference for different signs here. Dot vote is more suited to when there is a budget to be allocated.

@deirdreyee - it's cool you've started a poll in the Loomio Help group, however you may want to move this thread into your own group to keep your threads together and keep your discussion safe in it's own place.

Here's the help manual page on doing this: https://help.loomio.org/en/user_manual/threads/#moving-threads-between-groups
