Building an international scientific committee
The aim of this thread is to build an international scientific committee of well-recognized researchers to promote the journal.
A potential list to be discussed and completed :
- Pierre Suquet (already contacted by V. Acary and M. Legrand)
- Klaus-Jurgen Bathe (contact through Dominique Chapelle)
- Jean Jacques Marigo (to be contacted)
- André Pineau (seems in favor of epic-journal process)
- Claude Stolz (discussion in CSMA 2017)

- What is meant by the "scientific committee"? It is not editorial board?
- How can they promote the journal? The best solution would be if they publish there?
- Shall we suggest here some personalities?
- What would be a typical message with which we could contact them?
Concerning people, we could already contact people from the editorial board of
http://msp.org/jomms/about/journal/editorial.html
which apparently support the open-access politics:

@vladislavayastrebo Great idea.
Let us prepare in this thread a letter.

Bonjour
Brigitte Bacroix (LSPM)
Juliette Cayer-Barrioz (LTDS)
Je complèterai au fur et à mesure

@maurinemontagnat 100% agree :-)

Fully agree

For Vibration I talked with Norbert Hoffmann (TU hamburg) and he supports 100% the idea of an epi-journal.

For Solid Mechanics I will suggest Vincenzo Parenti Castelli (University Bologna)(M)

The discussion so far is OK. To summarize, we need for a journal:
a chief editor connected with a place, where the journal will be located,
an editorial board, as already mentioned (preferably active and well-known colleagues, an international balance),
rough rules for writing an article and communication data (can all be taken from existing journals),
a time-table for establishing these items and a start date,
Who is doing that? In addition there will be some "political" activities necessary, like communication with scientific societies, generally with scientific institutions and the like.
As quickly as possible, we should nominate colleagues doing the jobs and taking over responsibilities. External contacts (i.e.societies) not before some kind of structure will be established.

I propose to start the list of well-recognized researchers that might be prone to promote the future journal:
- Pierre Suquet (already contacted by V. Acary and M. Legrand)
- Klaus-Jurgen Bathe (ex editor in chief of Computer and Structures) (contact through Dominique Chapelle)
- Jean Jacques Marigo (to be contacted)
- André Pineau (seems in favor of epic-journal process)
- Claude Stolz (discussion in CSMA 2017)
