Water cube bulk shopping & transport
Kieze interested in purchasing water cubes together for a bulk discount and getting them delivered to the site can organize this here!
more info on the water situation on site: https://www.loomio.org/d/VIwzai9N/drinking-water-planning-aquarius
Please be advised that every water cube (however the state, new or used), should be washed with a high-pressure water hose (will be available at toolhaus) and bleach! do not buy 2nd hand water cubes that contained anything but edible materials!
Storage
Cubes can be stored over the year at the shed 7km away from the site. Should be fine there.

Hi everyone, I found a supplier on Ebay Kleinanzeige that would deliver FOR FREE to Freiland and each cube costs 65 euros, so really cheap! Those who can understand German should check it out: https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/1000-liter-tank-ibc-17-18-postleitzahl-lieferung-kostenlos/578117504-84-134 -- you can get in touch with Felix Steffen at +491732087472 -- remember that the earliest delivery date to the site is June 15th.
Joice Biazoto Wed 16 May 2018 9:22AM
@danielaquariusdrin does this seem like a good deal to you?

Suska Kinderkiez Wed 16 May 2018 9:23AM
Oh that sounds awesome! Thanks for checking!
Daniel (Aquarius - drinking water lead) Wed 16 May 2018 10:07AM
Sounds like a good deal @joicebiazoto but it doesn't explicitly say what these cubes have been used for before. So this would be something that needs to be checked by the supplier (I would ask, if it they are safe to store drinking water) before.

Suska Kinderkiez Wed 16 May 2018 10:16AM
on it.

Suska Kinderkiez Wed 16 May 2018 11:09AM
Ok, called the guy: The cubes have been used for food before (sunflower oil for example). They are pre-washed, but not disinfected. The other cubes that we saw on the site are also from him. They come with a disclaimer that they may only be used for rain water. If the "Gesundheitsamt" does an inspection, we are going to get in trouble if it's labeled as drinking water. @danielaquariusdrin
Kathleen Stoeckel Wed 16 May 2018 11:18AM
An option that we are probably going to use: previously used water cube, but with renewed "Blase" (= interior of cube) and new valves etc. - price: 125 EUR. https://www.regenwassertanks-ulm.de/ibc-tank-neue-blase-1000l-trinkwassertank-auf-hol.html - no need to clean it before filling it with drinking water
Kathleen Stoeckel Wed 16 May 2018 11:19AM
I'm in touch with them regarding delivery - let me know if you want to order from them as well, then we can arrange bulk delivery, max. 5 per delivery tho

Suska Kinderkiez Wed 16 May 2018 11:28AM
Kinderkiez is interested as we will probably not be on site early enough to do the washing @bandit you are the only person early enough I think.
waldo Wed 16 May 2018 11:19AM
hehe, the whole thing with the Gesundheitsamt is pretty funny indeed :D In Nowhere, we label all those cubes as "not drinking water" although we all drink from it and nobody ever got sick of it. Anyway, no reason to be worried about that aspect at Kiez Burn given our current size.
What is important
* The cube can only have contained food related things. (sunflower oil is borderline I guess)
* we have a high-pressure water thingy (hochdruckreiniger) and bleach on site (@danielaquariusdrin can you confirm the bleach part?). That needs to be used to was the water cube. This washing is important for both used and new water cubes.
Storage
Cubes can be stored over the year at the shed 7km away from the site. Should be fine there.
Joice Biazoto Wed 16 May 2018 11:30AM
@kathleenstoeckel the cube I recommended is almost half the price and free delivery, and you will hav access to all you need to disinfect it on site. Just sayin‘ ;)
Daniel (Aquarius - drinking water lead) Wed 16 May 2018 12:25PM
We will supply bleach to disinfect water containers. Any oily material is probably hard to remove completely, even with lots of detergent, given the large surface area, and the taste of rancid oil can be pretty unpleasent. Designated drinking water containers would be the safest solution. I also wouldn't lable anything as drinking water if it is not in a drinking water container but agree with Waldo here.
waldo Wed 16 May 2018 12:34PM
@danielaquariusdrin How would the bleach get to the site? Would you transport it or how would it get to the site?

CJ Yetman Wed 16 May 2018 12:43PM
is the plan to wash the cubes with bleach and then let the bleach evaporate? how long will that take?
Daniel (Aquarius - drinking water lead) Wed 16 May 2018 1:07PM
The bleach solution needs to be prepared shortly before rinsing the cubes with the solution. The minimum contact time to kill potential pathogens is 3 min, so 5 minutes should be enough. After that, the bleach residuals can be rinsed off the surface with drinking water. Important is to collect the bleach solution and rinsing water because this is harmfull for the environment.
Daniel (Aquarius - drinking water lead) Wed 16 May 2018 1:09PM
I order the bleach and can carry it in my car. Or it can get transported with all the water equipment. The solution is highly concentrated and needs to get diluted. 25 L should be enough but I will look into that in more detail later.

CJ Yetman Wed 16 May 2018 1:13PM
so the rinsing water needs to be taken off-site by the Kiez for disposal? or can they leave it out to evaporate?
waldo Wed 16 May 2018 1:58PM
probably this rinsing water can be put where the shower water goes. But that is to be confirmed by @andreasnoack
Joice Biazoto Thu 24 May 2018 11:31AM
Can we get a confirmation on this @andreasnoack ? I think it's really important to clarify the grey water situation.
Andreas Noack Thu 24 May 2018 12:12PM
There has been an update about the showers @bandit should know more details. Also there has to be a decision about shower usage and about greywater dumping into the showercontainers. I think this decision is not to be made by me - the lnt lead.
Joice Biazoto Thu 24 May 2018 11:33AM
So, there's no interest in ordering these together, if I understand correctly? Anyone came up with a better solution and can share with other Kieze? @kathleenstoeckel @suskakinderkiez @sonjafinger @hannahkrist
Kathleen Stoeckel Thu 24 May 2018 11:50AM
we've ordered a water cube already - this one: https://www.regenwassertanks-ulm.de/ibc-tank-neue-blase-1000l-trinkwassertank-auf-hol.html

Sonja Finger Mon 28 May 2018 6:19AM
Hello all! Thank you for your results here. I will talk about the watercube with my responsible guys tonight. Better is something for drinking water I'd say. But lets see.

Suska Kinderkiez Mon 28 May 2018 2:18PM
@joicebiazoto kinderkiez decided to order a watercube from the guy above. Has anyone already placed an order?
Kathleen Stoeckel Mon 28 May 2018 2:40PM
Our Kiez has placed an order - you can refer to me (Kathleen Stoeckel) and ask to combine the delivery, so we can maybe split the delivery cost. Delivery to Freiland is planned for Monday June 18
Joice Biazoto Mon 28 May 2018 3:11PM
Hi Suska, be aware that Kathleen did not order from "the guy above" (aka Felix Steffen from Ebay Kleinanzeige) - they ordered a new drinking water tank here: https://www.regenwassertanks-ulm.de/ibc-tank-neue-blase-1000l-trinkwassertank-auf-hol.html - in case you do want to combine shipping ;)

Suska Kinderkiez Mon 28 May 2018 2:43PM
Cool, thanks very much!

Suska Kinderkiez Thu 31 May 2018 9:55AM
I am going to place an order for 1 watercube with Steffen tonight at 18:00. If you want in, get in touch!

Sonja Finger Fri 1 Jun 2018 6:58AM
Hello Suska, was it possible to split delivery cost? I'm just asking maybe we can also ask for the delivery. But we are not sure yet. Probably to less people at the camp. @suskakinderkiez

Suska Kinderkiez Tue 5 Jun 2018 8:58AM
Hallo Sonja,
I am just talking to the ebay guy because they are a bit pissed that we only want one cube, so the delivery is kind of not worth it for them. If that falls through today, I will talk to the guys from Ulm and we can split the delivery costs. Do you know how much that was roughly?
Kathleen Stoeckel Tue 5 Jun 2018 9:07AM
Delivery cost was 59,90 EUR - so if we can somehow split that it would be amazing! I've ordered the delivery for Monday June 18
Leo Zerzura Tue 5 Jun 2018 12:53PM
We from the Zerzura camp are also ordering a watercube from the company in Ulm. I will give them a call to see if shipping costs can be split

Suska Kinderkiez Tue 5 Jun 2018 1:03PM
Oh great! Kinderkiez would be in as well. No news from the ebay guy yet.
Leo Zerzura Tue 5 Jun 2018 1:04PM
I could not reach them, but from the shipping cost calculation on the website, it does not really make a difference if you order them together or separately.

Suska Kinderkiez Thu 7 Jun 2018 8:22AM
Hi all, just got the Ulm guy on the phone (he only speaks my local german dialect, fun times). The shipping costs cannot be diverted as they are calculated by cubic meter. He was very friendly though and is trying to bundle the orders so that we have only one vehicle coming in. If you want to add to @kathleenstoeckel and my order, the order number is ORD 07571, you can add in the comments that you want it delivered together with this one.
Kathleen Stoeckel Mon 18 Jun 2018 9:32AM
Both water cubes have just been delivered to the site @suskakinderkiez

Suska Kinderkiez Mon 18 Jun 2018 9:33AM
Yeahhhh!
Saskia · Wed 16 May 2018 7:44AM
As of so far it doesn't seem like any Kiez has taken on the task of organizing a bulk order.
