Responses to the crowdfunding proposal

Ben Roberts, lead convener of Co-opathon2015, is proposing to launch a "crowd-resourcing campaign" on Monday, September 14, as the next phase of the Co-opathon gathering. Prior to that date, he requests that those who wish to weigh in on his proposal do so using this Loomio group, via the following process (adapted from sociocracy/holacracy):
- Ask clarifying questions via the other open discussion thread in this Loomio group (ideally by end of day Thursday)
- Offer responses via this thread, including suggestions for improvements, and any concerns you have about whether or not this is "safe enough to try" (ideally by midday Friday)
- Discuss and vote on a modified version of this proposal that Ben will offer in response to 1 and 2 above, to be posted by end of day Friday, with voting closing by end of day Sunday)

- Agree: this implies a PROMISE to participate in some way, e.g. any or all of the below: --contribute money --offer time/services --support the "Thunderclap" --broadcast to your network, especially --make one or more personal requests for support from people who have not been part of the Co-opathon to date
- Abstain: you think the idea is “OK,” but are not willing to promise participation)
- Disagree: you have issues with the proposal, but still feel it is “safe enough to try”)
- Block: you believe this proposal will harm the Co-opathon initiative, or move it backwards.

I feel like mentioning that "a PROMISE to" part somehow scares me. My feeling is not "not willing to promise participation" (as I am willing to participate) and definitely not "I am happy with the group to decide without me" -- so I vote for Agree!

I can definitely offer time/services, a little bit of money for the energy because I don't have much, can support social media/Thunderclap and make some requests.

Thanks Ben for all of this. I don't have particular suggestions and just feel why not give it a try… I find dana.io quite interesting; so in that sense as well, why not try out… I also noticed "Dana.io Sponsored Projects", which would be an interesting potential we can keep in mind...
