Letter of Intent to Occupy

This is a draft of a letter we can send to Governor Brown to create a precedent and protect ourselves, but also to create the "drama" that Cres said the reporters want/need in order to come and cover it.
LETTER OF INTENT TO OCCUPY
Dear Governor Brown,
We, the People intend to occupy public spaces in Sacramento, California July 31 until Aug 3rd 2014. Citizens from across the nation, from New Jersey to San Diego and Florida to Oregon will peacefully gather, as is our *human right and **civil right, in public spaces to seek redress of our grievances and may not be unreasonably restricted by the federal or state government.
Thank you for your kind attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
The Occupy National Gathering Organizing Group
*The UN Declaration on Human Rights
Article 9.
No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.
Article 20.
(1) Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association.
**First Amendment
Congress shall make no law ... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

I just found this post again, and actually like this simpler, more direct version better.
I also like heading it with LETTER OF INTENT TO OCCUPY

Yes, the simpler one is better, IMO, too. The extra verbiage in the 2nd draft it lifted from the UN letter. Maybe keep the letter simple we can provide that info supporting materials.

just posted on the other the need for editing; this may be all we need
we then need to send letters to the other officials, as proposed elsewhere

Just want to make you aware that they are reading all our posts and fb pages and all. We are just going to make our point with a "paper trail" so they'll have to answer.
Here's what Dustin Slaughter found out when he did a FIOA on the National Park Service's surveillance of organizers.

Here's the editable letter. How about we put in some Whereas and Therefore's in there?

Let’s decide about carbon copies or individual letter-by-letter campaign, tailored to each official. Also, city manager or mayor?
