Engaging with Nest governance & organisation during the event
Right now it's the lead up to the event, which is the one time that the nest community is face to face.
During previous events, there's often been some sessions for interested people to find out more about how Nest works, and discuss how the organisation could develop. This has included
- full community meeting
- Q & A with core team members
There's a lot of potential to harvest ideas and feedback and harness energy and feed it in to next year. It's then often a problem to tap into this afterwards, as a lot of the nest community has their energy elsewhere during the rest of the summer season.
What would you like to see at event this year? What could you facilitate or make happen?

I really enjoy our onsite community meetings, I'm not much of a public speaker so facilitating it on my own might not be right for me, but would love for us to do that again :)
I helped to facilitate the World Cafe event a few years ago on the old Nest site which was a nice way of engaging the community in constructive conversation. Would be really happy to support the facilitation of that again :)

This is a great idea. I think last year's community meeting was far too much leaders talking at Community, rather than community getting to reach out to the leads and find out more. I would like to see, and would be happy to attend and be part of, a community meeting leads panel open discussion and then for people to approach different leads to get more of a detailed idea of what they can do or what they can volunteer for as part of the event management

If we're going to do this we need to get it into the What Where When guide by next Tuesday. I'm happy to submit but it would be good to get some ideas from you all about a title for the workshop and suggestions for what the content is going to be? Go...

I like Lou-Lou's idea of having a meeting but then breaking out into groups where people can focus on areas of interest and chatting one-on-one

I'd be up for facilitating some sort of break-out discussion on decentralisation and co-creation if we're going ahead with this.

I'm sadly not going to be attending Nest this year, due to personal circumstances, so just opening this up as a possible productive focus for discussions regarding governance at this time. Especially inviting people who feel they don't have a good understanding of how Nest works as an organisation, and who find this is a barrier from them getting involved to step forwards and facilitate the education that they want for themselves and others in the same position in the community as them: asking for information support from those that have the info now could make it possible to do this!
