I would like to chat on our email list about the proposal. I see a couple areas where it can be strengthened. As an example a key feature of the proposal is the pay-what-you-can to attend pricing afforded by the relative cheap venue - this detail is in the intro (and at the end of the proposal) but should be highlighted in the initial vision as it will be attractive to our community.
I quite like the proposal, and impressed at the large amount of support Jeff has gathered. I would be happy to accept it at present, but would appreciate the discussion to better understand/clarify prior to accepting.
I especially like that Jeff has stepped up on short/no notice - this is an amazing proposal given the "impossible" turn around time we have asked of Jeff.
This sounds good to me. I was just using the threading on the Loomio because we don't have an internal email list with the core committee. So this could act in place of that for future reference if we need to see what we were thinking. I don't think it makes sense to discuss this with the community list if we don't share the proposal publicly.
I am kind of okay with discussing the proposal on the email list, the key part is to provide a note of any decisions on the public email list. For example inviting you as OSGeo.us representative.
The idea is to keep the decision making transparent even of a proposal (for example) may not be ready to share with the public.
