It should also be clarified that as this is a bootstrapping vote to setup ELF members according to the rules of the constitution, only current directors' votes (Dean, Sun & myself) are necessary & valid. I have sent Sun a reminder to vote.

We should clarify that this includes Kittea, Sun, Nicole, Tom, Sam, Monique - with Dean already being the founding member Rod hasn’t filled out a membership form yet. not sure why as we have sent the constitution and the link to the membership form I'm happy to include him if he fills out the membership form. We also still haven't resolved if we want to include a membership fee as well as agreeing to the constitution and guarantee. These details matter.

I think the membership fee is a good idea and it should be reasonably substantial like 40 hours of ELF work plus $50 so we can be sure someone hasn’t just joined on a whim which will create meeting quorum issues in the future if people are not actively engaged

I think minimum work hours engagement is a great way to manage that!

I have not joined as a member because I am concerned about the group dynamic of ELF. I have put in labor hours to manifest the project, so I am just a laborer. I am happy to be counted out of member voting and all of that and just be some random guy that shows up to help get things done.

Rod I think you have more to offer than just random guy who turns up, but respect your concerns about the group dynamics. How would you like to see that resolved so that you do feel comfortable being a member. What needs to change (I have lots of things I would like to see change but it’s a bit like a family - we have to work from who we are and make our communication and interaction more productive and harmonious so your ideas would be welcome. Sometimes an outside view is very valuable.

I do not find myself as a person that needs to be on a political board of members. I am a passionate person with strong opinions and so I stick to my own creations on a political front. When it comes to ELF I would rather that the core members steer the ship, and when they have come to an agreement on what they REALLY want to happen then I can come in a be the hands that manifest the reality of it. If I lived on the project grounds and went all in on the project I would focus on sitting on the members board. I just dont want to get emotionally and mentally attached to ELF without physically being there and being able to do something. I appreciate that you find value in my ideas, but this is how I feel I fit in to ELF.

I also just want to say that your engagement, capacity for reflection & awareness, and gentle nature have been a real boon to ELF so far; and have really helped me personally in a couple of situations @rodneywhitman ..."just a laborer"... definitely not- though appreciate your desire to stay in that capacity for now (:
