The Community Working Group Ops Team handles registration and moderation for Social.Coop. We've recruited Calix to join us, who also works on the Tech Working Group. They have been working with us for 3 months now, coming to meetings and today they started their first on call shift (after shadowing an existing member). We would like to make it official, so we are proposing them for membership:

Hello again Social.coop! I am (still) Calix/3wordchant, they/them, coming to you from New York, New York, USA.

I've been part of Social.coop's Tech Working Group since April 2023 (wow time has flown!).

With @Flancian stepping back from CWG Ops Team earlier this year, I volunteered to get involved (in an obviously-doomed attempt to fill his shoes 🙃)

My main previous moderation experience has been with my labour union, where I formed the moderation group for our forum and chat platform, and ran it for two years during an extremely intense period of discord within the organisation… leading to somewhat intense personal and political burnout. Now, having learned those lessons, I'm back for more (hopefully less) suffering! 😅 I'm excited to support the great work that the CWG has been doing, and continue learning from the other members.

I've completed onboarding to the CWG Ops Team, and I'm about to take my first "on-call" shift.
