Pecan Milk Co-op abolishes fancy titles.

There is NO: Education Director, Executive Chef, Chief Customer Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Financial Officer or Creative Director.

Every year, every Branch nominates candidates and elects a "Spoke." There are no term limits.

A "Spoke" is one of "of the bars or wire rods connecting the center of a wheel to its outer edge." The spokes from each Branch connect in the center to coordinate the success of the co-op. This is a form of representative democracy.

The "Spoke" is a team lead that:

  1. Coordinates a Branch with all the Branches of the co-op

  2. May coordinate their own Branch with scheduling and more

  3. Re-enforces set practices, policies and decisions

The Spoke uses:

  1. The democratically chosen Transformative Process to promote accountability in their Branch

  2. The collaborative decision-making process with a 66% threshold for agreement

  3. A rotating facilitation schedule, as required by our Operating Agreement
