user preferences about email

Saw some discussion going on about people feeling swamped by emails. If individual users could decide what level of detail they want, e.g. "digest", "everything", "things I've actively involved myself in", "proposals only", maybe that could help? Everyone has different usage patterns, and less technical users may struggle to sort their email.

On a tangent, maybe a note for new users that they may find filtering / sorting their email useful and they could approach their group for help with it if they don't know how to do it, is a sensible feature for any email-based tool these days!
