Should we start a listserv?

JD Josh Davis Public Seen by 112

As our first discussion/decision on Loomio, let's discuss whether or not we'd like to set up a listserv for the group. The only system I'm currently familiar with is google groups, but if others have better suggestions, this is the place to recommend them.

We are definitely agreed to try this out. Nice work making our first decision!

The next step (or one of them) is going to be getting more people on board. Please feel free to invite people who you think would be interested. I've set this group up so that anyone in the group (that means you) can add other users--please feel free to take advantage of this feature.

And feel free to start discussions!

cheers,

Josh

Thanks Josh !

As I don't know if everybody here already know something about the
festival Temps des communs (=Time of the commons). For those who know,
sorry for cross posting.

The festival Temps des Communs is a 2 weeks decentralized and
self-organized festival dedicated to the commons. It will take place
between the 5 and 18 of October. Our goal is to mobilize people in all
the french speaking cultural area (we call it Francophonie). The main
idea is that each local group organize its public events to demonstrate
the power of the commons and registred it in a shared website.

The festival Le Temps des Communs already took place in 2013 with the
name Ville en bien communs (=Commons in the city). You can find some
information in French here http://villes.bienscommuns.org/.

As organizers, we already agreed that the OCt.10, 2015 should be the
date for everyone to organize a more visible activity (party, public
debate, local festival, open everything, ... etc) at the city level with
their local activists network. We are also thinking to organize national
and/or international action another day during the period.

At the last meeting I already have informed people that an international
group was talking about the launch of an international day of the
commons but we did not start the discussion of this topic. Many people
were enthusiastic and some interested to be involved. Probably some of
them will be interested to participate in Loomio group. This afternoon,
there is a new coordination meeting. I will invite people interested to
join it. And I will also spread the word in the list of discussion of
the francophone network.

Best
Fred
