Introduction to the space

B baptiste Public Seen by 220

A proper introduction to Hackland to new members would help them get how it works, keeping it tidy and taking care of the tools. Something that would happen after their first visit, and before they get full access. I think it is needed. I thought of some sort of manual at first, like this one ( https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/apps/valve/Valve_NewEmployeeHandbook.pdf) - and they might be other options. What do you think?

This is not just for new members. As we grow older we revisit decisions and update our shared understanding of what the space is and how we want to run it. Scraping slack and loomio for past discussion is an annoying way to catch up on our constitution. We should write it down.

This does not just hold for our core values, but also for very mundane stuff. Which tools do we have, where do they belong, where can I order a replacement part, what is the correct part and where is the manual for that machine?

Finally, the text itself should radiate its own malleability by being put into a wiki or repository or comparable instead of something permanent looking (pdf or paper).

There's an open source cloud platform called next cloud which I think would be good for collaborative editing of documents. It can be hosted locally and/or synced off-site. There's a #docs channel on slack now for discussion about how store manuals etc. It could be used to host constitution stuff. It would remain private.
