Celtic Burn is a self organised gathering created by its community. We come from different backgrounds, interests, outlooks and skills. We're part of a vibrant network of similar gatherings and communities, based on the 10 principles of Burning Man.

Besides entry to the event, a membership gives you as much say as anyone else in what the event is and will become.

You're about to purchase a membership to Celtic Burn 🔥 (April 14th - 19th near Dumfries)! Amazing 💛💙💜💚❤️ Before we continue, here's a bit of important info. Please read all of it.

This year we are trialing a semi radical budget/payment process. We present to you the two pot system.

• POT 1 is our fixed costs, see here (pot 1 tab). It will be filled by selling memberships.

• POT 2 is the everything else pot. It will be filled up with love and £££ contributions and distributed via a community voting system (see our ongoing dreams platform trello card).

POT 2 really is EVERYTHING else; want a safe sanctuary space? Make a dream proposal. Want an entrance? Same deal. The Dreams platform will be worked on and launched around end of January. We might run a funding drive to top up POT 2 early next year. Higher donations to POT 2 grant no special privileges apart from a great shopping experience!

MEMBERSHIP Does not include food, this may happen at a later date if a kitchen team emerges (if this is your thing, join the Kitchen task card on Trello!) There is accomodation at the venue (28-44 beds, space for 20+ tents, 5-10 live in vehicles). This membership does NOT guarantee you a bed, see Spaces & Bedz advice process for info on the decision made re. Space Adoption.

SALE Memberships are sold through a simple sale, on a first come first serve basis. There are 100 regular memberships available. One membership per person. Each membership must have a clear owner (name email etc). If you do not provide first name, surname and email your membership may not be recognised.

INSTALMENTS OPTION POT 1 can be paid in two instalments, the first being now (£30) and the next in January. All final balances (£50) must be paid by Monday 31st January 2022. You will receive a link to make this payment in Jan. If the final balance is not paid by the deadline your membership will be re-released. If someone buys it, we'll return your deposit. If no one wants to buy it, we will be unable to refund your deposit. Any contributions to POT 2 will not be reimbursed.

CHILDREN Accompanied children 15 and under can come for free. If you plan on bringing children, please let us know when buying your membership.

RESALE / MEMBERSHIP TRANSFER You can resell your membership as long as you don't charge more than you paid for it (ie the original price). There will be no waiting list. Transfers are the responsibility of the member(s) (try using our community Facebook group), including emailing [email protected] to inform us of any name swaps, cc'ing both the seller and buyer. If we do not receive this information, transfers may not be recognised - please look out for an email from us to confirm your transfer has been logged.

REFUNDS There are none (except when there are - see 'INSTALLMENTS OPTION' above). In the event of cancellation due to COVID all memberships will rollover to 2023. If you cannot attend in 2023, you are welcome to resell your membership if someone else in the community would like to buy it (see above).

PAYMENT Follow the link below, it's like a shopping trolley; add up your items and pay at the end.

We are manually emailing out memberships so you might not receive it straight away. Hold tight.

Celtic Burn is non profit and any surplus goes back to into the community.
