Crow Fun Ding
We are still aiming for the stars but cant seem to get out of the gutter; getting access to buildings is hard & expensive & needs some serious drive.
My thought for the best way to proceed is for ye crowde-funding campaign; apart from getting the money to reopen (instead of chipping in our own money), it would also be us asking the city if they want an open art space again.
It would also mobilise people and promote culture in the city.
We can offer the usual nice gifts: art, tshirts, events etc
But i think we need to offer something more: real input & decision making
In a practical sense this would mean access to our loomio & other decision-making & task-tracking platforms.
This would be similar to the Exchange open collectives, which were a really interesting aspect of the space.
This would be a quite unique offer - lots of other cultural groups ask for your money to do things on your behalf, few allow you to play a real part in this.
More people 'buying in' should mean more participation, and a broader base of volunteers.
We'd need to do up a code of conduct before opening membership too tho I think
We can do events & media/lobbying campaign in conjunction to energise & build on that momentum
I can help ask this question to the city, I think its a very worthwhile project.
Anyone want to meetup some days for a decent chunk of time to put the prep work in to make it happen?
