SMTP authentication
So the interface forks now nice and smooth (thank you @robertguthrie). My env indicates to use my own smtp server for my domain (extract from env file):
>SUPPORT_EMAIL=admin@mydomain.org
>SMTP_DOMAIN=mydomain.org
>
>SMTP_SERVER=mydomain.org
>SMTP_PORT=465
>SMTP_USERNAME=loomio
>SMTP_PASSWORD=*
>
>FAYE_URL=https://faye.loomio.mydomain.org/faye
>REPLY_HOSTNAME=loomio.mydomain.org
When loomio application tries to communicate (I am using password restore procedure fr that purpose) with smtp server I have only following entries in my postfix log:
>Feb 13 20:23:51 srv001 postfix/smtpd[30294]: connect from loomio.mydomain.org[123.123.123.123]
>Feb 13 20:24:51 srv001 postfix/smtpd[30294]: SSL_accept error from loomio.mydomain.org[123.123.123.123]: lost connection
>Feb 13 20:24:51 srv001 postfix/smtpd[30294]: lost connection after CONNECT from loomio.mydomain.org[123.123.123.123]
>Feb 13 20:24:51 srv001 postfix/smtpd[30294]: disconnect from loomio.mydomain.org[123.123.123.123] commands=0/0
As effect loomio gets timeout and passowrd reset fails.
So after this (too) log introduction, I'd like to ask what kind ot authentication should be enabled in the postfix server, so it could accept connections from loomio.
In worse case I will set up additional, local postfix, that will relay to the regular one, but I'd like to use the one I use for all other purposes.
Thank you in advance for any support.
So I solved the problem following way:
1. I have added my loomio server's IP address to posfix'es directive 'mynetworks'
2. I have changed the SMTP_PORT in loomio's configuration to 25
3. I have removed SMTP_USERNAME and SMTP_PASSWORD from loomio configuration
4. I have added loomio server's IP address to dns SPF entry
Loomio connects now without any authentication directly to postfix, which allows that for loomio machine only.
It seems the mails are now send and delivered properly within and outside of my domain.
I am the hero of the day ;-)
