2026 Member Vote: Community Contributions by Social.coop
As a member of Social.coop you are invited to help shape our 2026 Community Contributions: the cooperatives, non-profits, and charities that support Social.coop and a healthy, growing, and resilient fediverse.
The Organizing Circle proposed and approved a budget of 4,000 GBP (5,400 USD). This year the Finance Working Group (FWG) has curated a list of initial nominees under three strategic themes. Members are invited to nominate additional recipients that fall under one of the three strategic themes.
Propose a Nominee
Members can nominate additional cooperatives, non-profits, and charities — or their associated collectives or projects. To propose a nominee, please reply to this thread with:
- name of the organization or project
- link
- brief description and the strategic theme that best represents the nominee: Build, Protect, Grow
Nominations close in 7 days. Members will then be invited to a dot vote across the final nominees, so that all members can share and collectively weigh their priorities.

I've chosen to bias my vote to the coop dependencies for social.coop and a few for advocates and projects for the future.
Thanks for pulling all this together. A real challenge to pick from this list!

With so many great choices, I stuck with tried and true that I depend on every day, and digital rights organizations, which are more important now than ever.

Prioritized growth over some of the established orgs which may already have better access to funding. Grow new stuff!

And, I limited to 5 so as to concentrate the donations so that each is a significant amount.
