Old Board Conversation

MG Max Grant Public Seen by 201

The old board (which has not met in 2 years) will meet on Sun 28 Apr at 5pm to have a conversation.

This informal conversation is intended to provide closure to the defunct old board (which has not met in 2 years) and to pave the wave towards further wider conversations towards addressing Nest's current governance needs.

This conversation is just for those who were on the old legal board and for Paul to provide input as the current year's team co-ordinator.

We will start finding answers to the following questions:

  1. What are the current governance needs of the Nest organisation which are not being met?

  2. Would a board be helpful in meeting these needs? And if so, what might this board look like? Who would be on it? How would it function?

  3. What amendments should be made to the mems & arts?

The outputs from these conversations will be posted here.

I'm also in this thread, Max. Don't think its just gone out to the old board... Which is just Max, J, Chris, and Emma, right?

This is a public thread. Anyone can see this and comment if they like! In the interest of transparency, the preparation for this closed conversation is being organised openly.

Hey Xavier, I think the invite is just for board members i.e Max J Chris and Emma. And Paul has been invited as the lead for this year I assume?

I think it’s just being organised publicly in an attempt at transparency so that the community knows a meeting is happening. @maxgrant can you clarify as it seems people are confused by your post.

Also @maxgrant, Chris Gray has said she’s not using Loomio so doubt you’ll get a response from her via this platform (although I’m assuming you have also reached out to her directly?).

"the board" is not the same as the volunteer team/core team. The board is the people who make up the legal entity of Burning Nest.

ok leaving you with the legal stuff.

Apologies - I see why that was confusing. Yes - I mean the old legal board. I will change that now.

And yes - I have been speaking with Chris off Loomio. Thanks!
