How is Loomio working for us?

RA Rory Aronson Public Seen by 44

Does this serve our development team? Does this serve our users? Who should this be serving? What other options are available that we might want to try?

I think this is a fantastic platform for us to discuss ideas and features, especially with the community of OpenFarm users who would likely not participate on GitHub.

Should we continue to use Loomio for development discussion, community engagement, and voting? Closed Fri 31 Oct 2014 10:07PM

Or should we use something else?

I have been following the loomio development for a little while now, and I think it's the best available tool for the job.

I've always been confused as to where to go to decide on things that aren't necessarily "issues." This looks great.

hell yes. sidenote: this is the first non mozilla-owned platform i've used which actually provides Persona as login option. That makes me both happy and sad at the same time.

Another tool worth considering either instead of Loomio or in addition to it is Discourse forums: http://www.discourse.org.

I see Discourse as a place to just discuss, and Loomio as a place to both discuss and take action via the voting. I think using only Loomio is better for us right now.

Yeah, I think Discourse is more of a forum. I'm afraid that with a couple of the things that we talk about there's no conclusion, so they just end up hanging around.

I actually had Discourse in mind when I proposed the idea. I think Loomio does the job much better.
