EGM N. 6 - Operating Manual

ST Sam Toland Public Seen by 365

The “Operating Manual” is the aggregated internal rules, policies and
administrative procedures of the Cooperative.

It deals with the finer details of policies and processes that we have - and as such can be changed more easily than our Rulebook (the Constitution of the Co-op, if you will).

You will find a very, very rough draft of it here - full of holes and links to documents that still need to be written - but it contains a number of core policies effecting membership that we would like to have on a firm footing from day one.

Feel free to ask questions, comment, suggest and all that good stuff.

Is there a particular reason why membership age is 16+? Plenty of young people are making music before then and it would be a shame to exclude the up and coming generation.

This is a statutory requirement - we could offer some sort of membership for minors, but we'd need to put a little thought into how we manage this. I open to it - and I'm sure most people.

OK great. It will be good to look at how other services and platforms manage this

I see that only 7 signatory members may vote on all the proposals. Who exactly are signatory members? Sorry if this question sounds stupid, this is all new to me.

We had to set up a LTD company before the coop and so those original 7 people were assigned to vote in the board of the coop. So this meeting is mostly for them, but we've also invited in the future board members (as many as can attend) to participate/observe/etc.

Thanks for the clarification. I think this should have been mentioned earlier though.

Thanks for clarifying. I've been very enthusiastically voting when I shouldn't have! Will change to abstain.

Hi Stephanie - yes, the signatory members are the first 7 members that signed our incorporation document. This general meeting is a bit of an anomaly as before this meeting only the 7 people who signed are legally members. One of the agenda items is to formally ratify all our members.

Apologies - I thought this was clear (and I added it to most of the proposals) but things can slip by. The first formal meeting of an organisation like ours is a little messy - so appreciate everyone's understanding and patience.

After today, all future general meetings will be open to all members!! :)

Feel free to abstain in the votes
