Cleaning up old threads in OSGeo Oceania Board Loomio

Hi all, I'm looking through the OSGeo Oceania Board Loomio and I notice that all threads are "open".

I'm thinking we should "close" a thread when it has served its purpose. I think this would give us a better view about what's currently in play and might help keep things focused.

Closed threads are still browseable (and can be re-opened).

What do you think? If people agree, I'd be happy to go through and close old threads.

Cheers

Should we close Loomio threads when they are finished?

What are you proposing?

I'm proposing that we close threads when they're done, and only keep "live" discussions open.

Why is this important?

I think it will make Loomio a more useful resource for us.

What are you asking people to do?

Comment in the thread, or just choose one of the options here.

I agree. the option to re-open, in the unlikely event it needs to, is helpful to know

What is the difference between threads with a decision and just a decision on it's own?

I originally though I needed a thread to host a decision, but now I think you can just make "Decisions", which is much simpler. Should we just do that?

One thing I noticed when I created a standalone "decision" was that it didn't notify everyone. A benefit of the "thread" is that we can have discussions before we formulate a decision, or have multiple decisions (and types of decisions) in a thread.

I did get the sense from the last few months that people want to use Loomio for discussions, which threads seem well suited to.

OK seems like everyone's happy, I'll start by closing this thread :)
