meeting struture
i want to propose that there be a team of two or three people who are elected to prepare the agenda in advance, write out guidelines for participation and decision-making, (i did suggest this at our first meeting and put a lot of effort into drafting some things that people are welcome to use) and be prepared to recruit facilitators for the meeting (who can be affirmed from the floor).
In addition, that we have 2 minute takers prepared with computers to take notes and post them.

As far as I'm aware the event call out already explicitly states that there are no elections taking place

"i did suggest this at our first meeting" at our first meeting we did in fact do this and we passed and agreed all the guidance notes suggested by Dorter. We elected dorter as she requested on the secretariat board along with Emily. At the time I said I wanted to be on this board to ensure these basic things happened however their was concern that it would be placing to much power in one persons hands. However the it has been a major blow that this board hasn't been functional - it not being functional has lead to the current situation and the allegations that we have not taken structure seriously.
I would like to put my name forward this to prepare the agenda. I will also being submitting a motion to elect a new secretariat at the full meeting. I suggest we leave this open for two more days for nominations for preparing this meetings agenda then close it and elect on here.
@seanfarmelo "As far as I’m aware the event call out already explicitly states that there are no elections taking place" yes that is what we advertised. However it only takes five members to call for the relection of the editorial board. If people want to do that there is nothing that can be done to stop them.

@edwardbauer As me and you are the only people to have put ourselves forward for this, shall we meet up to prepare the agenda? We could have an election as @dorter suggested but with no other candidates it seems like it would just be a formality.
Also, what is the secretariat?

Sorry for asking a lot of questions, I’m still trying to learn the ropes here.
I’m assuming you mean to prepare the agenda for the upcoming meeting on the 26th of July right? Would you want the election to occur here online? I think it would need to be quite quick in order to ensure this is in place for the next meeting.
I’d be happy to give this a go to prepare the agenda etc, so long as I can be in regular communication with the other person(s) in some form. If you could send me your drafts I will have a read through them. Does this mean there's currently no proper meeting structure?
When you say recruit facilitators, do you mean ask someone from the meeting to keep discussion on track? Or someone external?
I think all this is fine and I'm glad to see it, too often in meetings there is a sense of ambiguity over how and in what way you can contribute, particularly if you are new.
