I have been thinking about the Tate Lates project. Continuing the first idea I proposed a few days ago (videos (10-15 seconds) triggered by audience movements), I thought it would be a great idea to use footage of main events that happened in the 21st century (look at the examples below). We can either mix all the topics, in this case, we have 36 movements combinations. Or, we have different themes (Science/AI, Geopolitical, Society, Ecological, …) which means that we can have 36 videos on this theme.
Presentation wise, I was thinking of a button panel display in a pure futuristic aesthetic (like Fifth Element for example) but I am very open to design proposition :) Although, each sensor would be hidden under the button like thing.
I think this could be a great idea because, in addition to the direct outcome of the videos, we can also raise awareness about the evolution of humankind and its impact on the earth.
With this process, we can work on the videos from our place and try the project out when we are coming back together!
Let me know what you think!

The M & T Group has decided to make a travel 'Hopscotch' game for the Tate Late. Each square will be a pressure point that triggers a projection once the audience steps onto it. We will explore cultural aspects of countries through each step. The audience becomes the performer that allows for the rest of the viewers to become informed about cultural events/occurrences as they view the projections. This is a playful way to integrate Movement, technology & audience participation/learning all into one project.
