Email Settings / Notifications not obvious for new users?
Phill Coxon PublicSeen by 61I just joined the Loomio group to suggest ideas but wanted to disable notifications for the main group.
As an experienced Loomio user I still found myself getting confused trying to locate where I could turn email notifications off on a group basis.
The Groups menu option was the "obvious" place I intuitively looked. From there I found the Profile menu but missed "Email Settings" the first time as my first impression was that it would be to change my email address rather than adjust notifications.
For new users this may be an even greater issue if they aren't aware at all that they can switch notifications on/off on a per group basis - not sure if the onboarding process has been changed and highlights this anywhere.
Possible suggestions:
Rename "Email Settings" to "Email Notifications" to provide greater clarity for users viewing the profile menu options.
- On the Groups drop down menu add an "Email Notifications" link and a one sentence description or tool tip - "Adjust your email notifications for each group"
I agree! Thanks heaps @phillcoxon. The work we'll have out by the end of the week addresses this directly and I would love to have your feedback on it!
