Should we use Loomio to conduct Board discussions?

Hey everyone, I've been thinking that we can improve the way we communicate and make remote decisions as a board, and think that this might be a great tool to help us with that. Let's have a discussion here about that, and then call it to a vote!

All,
Although support was unanimous, only three of us voted on this proposal (Al, Laura, and myself)...Another three (Bruce, Janice, and Gayle) voiced support in the "Discussion", so please in the future, make sure you do actually vote once something has been proposed.
My next concern is with response bias: were those who were unable to use the site (or were just not into it) also less likely to vote? Ann, Jeff, Tia, and Jerauld still haven't been active on the site yet. Part of the whole point of this tool is to be more inclusive, so I don't want to create a forum that leaves anyone out.
With this in mind, I'm publishing a tentative "Yes" outcome to the question of whether we should use Loomio for Board discussions, but with the caveat that if Ann, Jeff, Tia, or Jerauld object, we should have another vote.
I will email them now to ask if they have been able to use Loomio.
Our email threads can get long and confusing and sometimes they leave people out. The basecamp is a bit complicated and has a lot of features we don't use--plus no one seems to use it for any of the features. But we still need a way to communicate clearly, to record that communication, and to make decisions as a group. I think Loomio might offer us a way to do that.
If you vote "agree", we will conduct board discussions on loomio in between board meetings. If you vote "disagree" we will keep using email (and basecamp).

Simple, and designed for groups like ours that need to make friendly decisions, sometimes when we're not all together.

I spoke to Jerauld last week. He just hasn't had time to sign up. I will work on him this week. If Tia could work with Ann and Steve, you could work with Jeff, we will all be signed up.
I will be leaving on Friday the 19th for two weeks and Jerauld will also be leaving all next week. Henry and Richard are putting the final touches on the merger agreement and will post it on Loomio with the next steps sometime today or tomorrow.
