Team Visioning Retreat in Barcelona

D Dani Public Seen by 187

We've seen a lot of changes this past year including a relocation of our home office in Barcelona. It's a high priority for teams that work remotely to gather in shared physical space periodically to connect, discuss, and strategize together; meeting up for things like DevCon, while they get us by, do not fully meet the purpose of a team retreat.

So, let's get together!

We can use this thread for any decisions that come up including date, agenda, scholarship funds, fun side adventures etc.

It will be great to also state both personal and collective intentions for coming, surface specific obstacles that may be prohibiting anyone from committing as well as opportunities for engaging peripheral participants more deeply!

in response to josh: i've been getting excited about visiting more radical communities in and outside of barcelona. there are a couple different squats and even squat villages within a couple hours of the city and Ome and I were talking about planning a road trip to visit some of them in end of may/early june :) it would be so super fun to tack this onto our group get together as an optional before or after field trip.

I would love to hang out with you guys in Spain! I've got the time but not the scratch, so there's that...

Didn't we want to propose the first week of June?

Per discussion in the Community Meeting on Thursday 4/18, the proposal has passed to host a Giveth Team Retreat in Barcelona beginning at or around May 27 through roughly June 9th, open to all interested in participating in team oriented activities that build the Future of Giveth together, up to the capacity of our new home office place.

There will be space created in or around this time to address the Commons Stack as a separate but related entity/project of Giveth.

We'll work in advance to plan our time together, draft the outcomes desired, and prepare a rough agenda of topics -- while releasing attachment to that plan knowing that things can change and we'll make those decisions collectively when onsite.

Next steps are to invite facilitators and planner type people to join a Riot room, and distribute a form soliciting input from all, including those not attending and those who are more of the do-er type. :)

What do you think is important to the Future of Giveth? Whether you can make it or not, your perspective will shape the outcomes of the retreat so please take a few minutes to tell us here: https://forms.gle/UX2ntZSfydpjBUAHA

Is there a place where we can all put the dates? I need to narrow down days to tell my boss :P

We could create a doddle perhaps? (I was under the impression that it was a two week thing, however I'm getting rid of all my stuff to go nomadic.... so I don't really have the boss constraint!.. and will thus select all dates across said potential doddle)

I'm down with such an idea. I wanna be back in London on the 16th to see King Crimson in the Royal Albert with a friend but otherwise I'm good to stay on/come back for such a cultural excursion. Do you know which squats etc though? Ideally we'd find the good ones that have found working collaborative patterns like the Huertas; the working 10% rather than the unsustainable 90%!
