Is Loomio still the right place for the Open App Ecosystem group?

A few more new members have joined the group recently, but there's been no discussion here for some time. Is there still a community here with a set of shared interests? If so, is Loomio still the best place for us?

We've never really made much use of polls and other decision-making tools, mainly using this group as a forum. But there are so many forums now that have added ActivityPub support, making them part of the fediverse (specifically the groups layer sometimes known as the "threadiverse"). Maybe that could be a better watercooler for us to gather around now?

from what I see today, the youngsters are mostly flocking to Telegram and sometimes to Signal ...

Thanks @Danyl Strype and @Michel Bauwens . Good questions. Maybe the first question (is there still a community here with a shared set of interests?) is a good place to start. I'm still very interested in the concepts, but haven't had much success with implementations. I've been meaning to ask about that in this group, so I'll start a thread for that, and we'll get a sense if there is still interest.

And just a note to say we are paid up for a lifetime community membership here on Loomio, but that doesn't have to mean we stay here.

TeleGrim is certainly not an appropriate place for this group, and arguable not a good place for anyone. As for Signal, I see no reason to move from one centralised platform to another. Let alone move a public web forum to a platform designed for private chat.

@Lynn Foster Great news about the lifetime membership. Maybe learning into the tools Loomio offers, subgroups, polls, etc, could actually be a good way to regroup here?

One other thought, it doesn't help that mobile device UX on Loomio remains very sub par in my experience. Despite my best intentions, I work a lot on mobile these days, as do most people my age and younger.

But maybe this is something we can help the Loomio crew with? With detailed feedback, and maybe in some cases code patches.
