Mantis Shrimp: is it the best creature ever created by god?
proposal by Joriam Philipe Closed Thu 25 Jul 2019 9:01AM
Just seeing how it feels to have a poll without only two buttons and anonymous responses.

Is the idea that we detect when someone has pasted an embeddable url
Ideally. An embed buttons adds a bunch of extra clicks so not the best UX, I can't remembering seeing one in any other app. Looking at how fediverse apps like Mastodon handle embeds could be a useful guide to user expectations, and studying the bits of their code related to it might give up some tips for implementing it. Especially given it's also a RoR app.

Is the idea that we detect when someone has pasted an embeddable url, or do we offer an "embed" button?
What do users expect?
Danyl StrypeThu 25 Jul 2019 12:46PM
Would be great if embeds worked not only for YT, but for instances of PeerTube, MediaGolbin, Plumi, the invidio.us, software, any free code software people can use to hosted their own video.

I can add support for embeds!!!! I will do it before the release. Thanks for prompting it.
Joriam PhilipeMon 22 Jul 2019 8:36AM
That worked! But when I mouse over the image, my cursor doesn't change to a little hand

@Strypey and @Eduard Kurganskyi thanks for the feedback on proposal configuration. After we are able to remove the loomio 1.0 client we can make poll templates editable. This means you can build your own poll type and configure what poll types your group has available.
So you can make a standard agreement poll for your group, specify what buttons it has, and other aspects of how it works, and remove poll types you don't need in your facilitate list.
In a technical sense it's about moving the poll definitions from a yml file to the database and adding a form to configure them. In a product sense it's about getting Loomio 2.0 public and able to replace Loomio 1.0 so we can develop new features and make breaking changes.
Danyl StrypeTue 16 Jul 2019 11:00AM
Tried to add an allocate poll to this thread. I got as far as the 'invite' modal, where clicking on 'members of this group' and 'members of this thread' didn't seem to do anything. In the end I was able to choose myself and clicked send. The modal hung open and I had to dismiss it, but I can now see a poll.
How should we allocate this years self-sealing stem bolt production quota?
dot vote by Danyl Strype Closed Fri 19 Jul 2019 10:01AM
You don't need to know anything about what stem bolts are to have opinions on how to distribute them comrades!

I like the way the proposals are presented as facilitation moves. That's makes sense :)

Interesting that I have the option to close the thread, but I don't appear to be able to edit the context.

Voting feels quick and intuitive to me 😎
Danyl StrypeTue 16 Jul 2019 10:07AM
I had a little bit of trouble working out how to vote in this. I haven't used the new poll types much though. I went to 'show results' without changing the default "no" responses that appeared after all times. When I went back, I had to dig to find the element for editing a response I didn't intentionally made.
Time poll is less complex and more flexible

You can configure the minimum and maximum on a score poll
score poll by Robert Guthrie Closed Tue 30 Jul 2019 12:02PM
Previously score poll was always 0 through 9. Some people wanted -5 to 5. Others different things. Now you can configure it.

Long awaited feature to my mind. Ideally things would be as customisation as possible ideally at a group level by the coordinators (so that ordinary members aren't bombarded with tabs and buttons)

Block is a powerful statement. However I appreciate it may not be appropriate in situations. I'd leave it to be configured/selected by the proposal initiator who is likely the best person to make the call for their proposal.

I agree with @Strypey . This should be a group decision.

I think this is something best decided by the group, and changed in the admin settings, rather than being decided on-the-fly by the person putting up the proposal. Just realized I might be missing the point here ... ;)

Proposals no longer need have blocks.

You can choose which of the buttons to show now.
How do you feel about that?

good to see...i still haven't been able to stop the siblings from squabbling...they oscillate tween friendship and rivalry by themselves.
maybe i just watch and place bets upon outcome?
