I'm a little confused on the name - is it oersprints or oersprint? The website says oersprint but the logo says oersprints.

I have continued to work on my fork of the oersprint site (http://wcmckee.com/oersprints/) adding in links the sponsers sites. I need to go and add logos. Is there svg/html5 canvas versions of sponser logos?

I am also thinking of creating a new page for locations and list locations under there.

For registration have you considered maybe using a service such as http://www.lilregie.com/?

LilRegie is good and NZ owned and based, always a positive. It doesn't have a free option though so if we're doing free events we may prefer EventBrite which charges a percentage for paid events but is free for free events.

Ive used Eventbrite's free ticket option and said 'a gold coin / $5 koha is suggested".has worked well.

Eventbrite could work - google forms can be a bit of a pain! What do others think?

Hey @williammckee - no, only PNG. Jem made it. I've attached the original file from her.

When you think your new site is ready to go, we can replace my initial shocker with yours (if others agree).

I organised an event with Eventbrite and found it useful. It had lots of features like reports that I used sometimes and a whiz could no doubt do more.

Working out what questions to ask for additional information in advance would help. Mixed teams work best and getting updates on how many teachers, how many techs, how many designers etc are signed up would be useful. The team could then decide where to aim recruitment messages or who to headhunt for events.

On the other hand, a google docs or similar are useful for the planning team to brainstorm ideas.

Hi @kayscarlet we have this as well: https://etherpad.net/p/OER_Sprints

We could have a field that says 'are you willing for us to add your first name, skills and interests to a public organising doc'?

Yes that might work. However my interest would be ensuring as few steps in registration and information gathering as possible. If people are keen to be there on the day, but not want to organise, using the registration form to gather information may be an efficient one step way to do it. Fewer steps makes easier.

@mattmcgregor As the number of participants increases, you might come to want more formatting options than etherpad provides. For the first educampwelly we had used wikispace and that had worked well for us -- http://educampwelly.wikispaces.com/2011. Unfortunately, wiksipaces slightly changed. I am not quite sure whether it is still free for this type of purpose -- http://www.wikispaces.com/content/classroom. Asking for twitter / blog page is a good idea too. That encourages people to connect, discover their mutual interest before they come on the day.

@mariellelange @kayscarlet How about I set up eventbrite on behalf of the group, and then commit to adding details - if consent is provided - to the etherpad to begin with, and then to somewhere else if the pad starts getting a bit busy / is causing problems for people?

I'll hold off for another day, to make sure others are ok with it. If you don't like eventbrite or are super passionate about a place to list participant details, please chime in!
