A "workers cooperative" digital marketing agency start up. Will it fly!?
We are a virtual (we all work from anywhere) digital agency. We’re ready to scale but…..
We are floating the idea of transforming our agency into a worker cooperative organisation and are welcoming discussion on the idea.... keen to get into this?.
Have you heard about “worker cooperatives, are you part of one….?So in short, cooperatives apply the values of cooperation – autonomy, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity – in the workplace and in their communities. Think, www.loomio.org
It has all the trappings to attract the ambitious, tech savvy millennial.....
They’re trading enterprises, owned and run by the people who work in them, who have an equal say in what the business does, and an equitable share in the wealth created from the products and services they provide. YAY!
As well as benefiting their members, co‑operatives act together to ‘build a better world through co-operation’.
Will the worker cooperative structure be ideal for our virtual digital agency, (team working out of office / remote / "virtually")

This group hasnt been active in ages - although I hope that it will in the future.
In the meanwhile, if you need support helping to set up a cooperative, do consider joining Platform6 , they also make decisions using Loomio. You can post in their public Loomio group here before joining. Would be great to see you there and see if I could help you out somehow, sounds like a good idea!
