INTERNET PARTY - INTERNATIONAL GUIDELINES

CORE VALUES

As stated under section 3 (Objectives) of the Constitution of the Internet Party of New Zealand, our core values are:

• Openness
• Freedom
• Fairness
• Connectedness
• Innovation

LOCAL ELECTION RULES / COMPLIANCE

Each international Internet Party is responsible for learning and complying with the particular election rules of their country/state/province. The electoral rules followed by the Internet Party of New Zealand relate only to the territory of New Zealand and are not applicable to the international movement. The Internet Party of New Zealand suggests that you consult local expertise in order to assure you comply with any and all electoral rules and associated legislation.

LEGAL

The Internet Party of New Zealand advises that you should seek and employ local, competent legal counsel in order to ensure that the legal aspects of your Party business structure, communications, finances and the operations of your Party comply with applicable local laws.

ACCOUNTING

The Internet Party of New Zealand advises that you should seek and employ local, competent accounting assistance in order to ensure that you are fully complying with applicable local financial and accounting regulations.

CONSTITUTION

The Internet Party of New Zealand has no power to approve or disapprove the Party Constitutions of international Internet Parties.

The Internet Party of New Zealand Constitution sets out the rules for the operation of the Party and its structure. The Internet Party of New Zealand allows the use of its Party Constitution as a base template from which the international Parties can adopt and later make adjustments by consensus of their Executive Committee once appointed, as befits their circumstances, provided that such alterations are in the spirit of the Core Values of the Internet Party of New Zealand.

The most recent copy of the Constitution of the Internet Party of New Zealand can be read here:

http://ipnz.github.io/Docs/ConstitutionAndRules/

As we have no control over the international Parties, we therefore bear no responsibility for their actions or implementations of our Constitution.

COMMUNICATIONS

Although the Internet Party of New Zealand has supplied the Loomio and Discord spaces for the initial point of contact for the international Internet Parties, the latter are responsible for setting up their own social media accounts and website domains, establishing and moderating their own communications channels and for any content or conduct within or related to the aforementioned.

BRANDING

International Internet Parties must be recognisable to the public by the use of a modified version of the Internet Party of New Zealand logo. The Internet Party of New Zealand allows use of this logo on the following understanding:

the original logo will not be altered, only added to (by adding words or graphics that represent your country)
that the brand will not be used to represent anything which violates our Core Values
please email your modified brand to [email protected] for approval
For official copies of our branding templates/logo please contact [email protected]

TECH SUPPORT

Some initial tech support, within reason, is available by contacting @ipnztech on Twitter (DM’s are open)

Any questions? email [email protected]

All international Parties must be registered with the Internet Party of New Zealand and will be listed in our directory site which is going up at https://internet-party.co

SUBSCRIPTION FEES

At no time will the Internet Party of New Zealand charge any membership or subscription fees from the international Parties. Only individuals who are personally members of the Internet Party of New Zealand are subject to the payment of membership fees to belong to the Internet Party of New Zealand. Members of international Internet Parties are a matter solely for each international Party

In agreeing with the above terms and establishing their Parties, the international Parties recognise that the relationship between the Internet Party of New Zealand and the international Parties is non-financial.

PIRATE PARTIES INTERNATIONAL

The Internet Party of New Zealand is applying for member status with Pirate Parties international (PPI). This can be extended to international Internet Parties on a case-by-case basis. There are many benefits to joining PPI - as there is an established international network of many thousands of tech-savvy members, with a mature organisational structure and annual conference. We highly suggest that once firmly established, each international Internet Party also applies for member status with PPI.

DISCLAIMER

Because you support the values of the Internet Party of the New Zealand, we have no objection to you using the Internet Party name and Branding, but the Internet Party of New Zealand disclaims any and all liability arising from any and all activities of the international Internet Parties.

This document is currently pending approval by the Executive Committee of the Internet Party of New Zealand and may be modified in the future. Any revised copy will be posted to the International page on our Loomio. It is the responsibility of the International Parties to keep up to date with any such changes.

Hi all, I'm very happy to show you a proposal for a decentralized communication platform for Europe: ipeu.org (still closed to public - the password is "ipeu").

In this initial/constitutional phase we will just collecting emails and giving volunteers the opportunity to manage their own EU Chapter autonomously (thanks to a Multisite WP installation).

Basically, every European Internet Party can easily have its own website with two clicks (see it.ipeu.org, es.ipeu.org, etc.)...

I am personally in contact with ES, CH and IT (me) so they are in and they helped me to set all up, but I saw some messages here from UK, DE/AT, PT so I'm trying to reach them to let them know this "idea".

Of course the single Chapters will not be "obliged" to use the ipeu.org platform: in case we will redirect to their website.

Hope this helps!

That is a fantastic idea. And will surely make it easier for those chapters in the EU :)

internet-party.eu

I don't know if I get a say but I voted internet-party. I did this because it is intuitive and people know what they are typing when they are coming to your website.

internet-party.eu

No reason we can't go for both - much like IPnz.live and the full nz domain use the shortly one for links and redirects.
