proposed 8 team bench format

Time restraints and exhaustion mean that round robin for a bench tourney is practically impossible. Brisbane is hosting a 2 day bench tourney in July with 8 teams.
Day 1 will be seeding. Day 2 will be single elimination with a hackers bracket for the teams who lost their first elimination game. This means that all teams will play a minimum of 7 games over the weekend (the equivalent of 13 twelve minute games if a player is being played an equitable amount of time on a 6 player squad).
There will be some scoreline blowouts in the elimination stage as well as potentially in the first few seeding rounds. However, we are aiming to seed teams as accurately as possible to allow for accurate final rankings at the top middle and bottom of the table. The tight schedule means that it may be difficult to apply the Bayesian formula (https://leagueofbikepolo.com/forum/organizing-polo/2015/04/28/alternative-to-swiss-rounds) to every round. Therefore teams will be pre-seeded and fixtures pre scheduled.

Pre-seeding
Prior to the tournament, we are asking teams to nominate a captain who is able to rank the teams (other than their own), based on their probability of each team winning the tournament. Pre rankings will be averaged and each team will be assigned a starting ranking (A through H). When a team plays a team with a higher ranking than their own, if they beat that team, they swap places and play the rest of that team's fixtures. Beating a team with a lower rank does not move you further up the rankings. At the end of the seeding rounds, the scores of all fixtures are entered and the Bayesian formula is applied and rankings will be adjusted to reflect the 'strength' of each team. after a lot of playing around with the fixtures. I came up with the following pre-scheduled fixtures. "X" indicates a bye for the top and bottom teams. I would like to hear how people think it can be improved whilst still providing strong seeding accuracy.

Seeding rounds (friday night, saturday) total 19 games.
A d e b c x
B f d a e c
C g f e a b
D a b h g f
E h a c b g
F b c g h d
G c h f d e
H e g d f x
(order of AvB, CvE games moved so that A plays B before C, less chance of double game AvC/BvC)
A few mid table teams do not play each other, this will be where the Bayesian system comes in and will be able to hopefully accurately rank team strength.
It also means that referees and goal officials can be allocated to a match ahead of time.

Day 2 (double elim)
The first rounds are scheduled so that the higher ranking teams are not on at the same time, as they are likely to have the more experienced referees.
L=loser W=winner (game number)
