Hi all, ACS is launching a new journal called Earth and Space Chemistry, and one of their representatives is coming to our Gordon Research Conference next week and asking to meet members of the community. I will try to schedule a meeting with him and ask about their plans for preprint policies as they vary per ACS journal. Anything else to discuss?

Meeting with him is a great idea;I've nothing to add though apart from highlighting the benefits of preprints etc so that they are fully on board with them Good luck!

Thanks @sabinelengger! I agree with @anson1; simply highlighting the benefits of preprinting, indicating preprints are being broadly adopted by society- and major publisher-led publications alike, would be a great start. Allowing immediate self-archiving, with no embargo on the AAM, would be lovely, but perhaps a step too far for a professional society...!

ACS is the American Chemical Society?
Lots of options: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACS

Talking about conferences. Would it be a nice feature if people could make a moderated page with a collection of preprints? Then conferences could upload their extended abstracts to EarthArXiv and quickly generate a list with conference contributions, rather than code such a page on their isolated conference page.

Yes, Victor, American Chemical Society. .

A plea: could we please keep this thread (and others) on topic? @victorvenema , if you could please edit your post and open a new thread for your suggestion of the new feature please, as it has nothing to do with the title of the thread? In order to read back previous threads, it is much better to keep them organised and discussions are organised under the right headings.
