Starter for ten mission statement
Create a space where we can discuss our strategy for social enterprise in New Zealand, that spans further than our normal local networks.
Empower people to invite other social entrepreneurs and supporters they think can add to and drive the conversation at various levels of private and public sector.
Centralise starting and running discussions they we are passionate about, @mention people they would like to inform and add to the discussion, and create proposals around actions we can take.
Initial discussion points could include:
- funding / tools
- community building
- capability in the industry
- charity vs. business set up
- common tools - what can share / partner on / consolidate

I think one useful thing would be to facilitate community organised google hangout workshops. Pretty easy to organise and I'd be happy to run a couple.

Personally I would be happy to do sessions on
- financing using revenue share backed instruments
- leverage the power of network based organisations
- transform your work with trello
- mitigating risk through customer validation and iteration

@annaguenther of course happy to share. It's still such a nascent scene here, though; lots of non-profit, NGO, charitable, volunteer activity, not as much trading-for-social-purpose activity.

Just to put it out there (if I write it down, I have to do it, right??). I'm willing to put 2 hours a week into driving further discussions and coalition building in the funding area. I want to create a tool kit of financial instruments that social entrepreneurs can use in New Zealand.
