Q and A

DU Deleted User Public Seen by 29

A space where people can seek clarification on questions around $. eg can I claim this expense? How much do I need to keep aside for Super? Anything that you need......It i envisaged that over time people will post questions here rather than emailing admin, thus sharing the learning and reducing duplication.

spot on-although as an employee you could chose not to be reimbursed and to then claim as a tax deduction.

So this is a timely discussion, because this exact thing is happening with the AoH coming up. Several CosSies have asked for this to be deducted from their bucket. Also in-line with previous conversation one request has come from someone who is in the red already.....have we made a decision around how we are going to handle these requests?

HI Lynn,
Maybe have a look at the buckets in deficit thread. I have asked if people could put up examples of when it is OK to be in red. My questions would be around what the plan is in place to move from red to green.

Can we make the comments general eg is it ok to pay for AOH training from a bucket that is in the red?

Question from @Jason: How long can a person be engaged as a casual employe before they need to be made a permanent employee?

A person can remain casual long term if they choose. Here is the info from Fairwork Australia: https://www.fairwork.gov.au/employee-entitlements/types-of-employees/casual-part-time-and-full-time/casual-employees. However if a person is performing regular hours after 12 months they should be offered permanent status. Here is an article re this http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-07-05/fair-work-decision-decision-on-full-time-employment-casuals/8680892. Whether or not they opt to take this up is their choice, and perhaps we need to cover this when we are transitioning people from Inquirer to
Collective member. There is no benefit financially under Jeder's system to be one or the other as we are reponsible for filling our own buckets. Administratively, the casual option is much easier.

Hi- the salary sacrifice forms on the back end of the website- are they the most current? I have had some enquiries from COSSIEs regarding Salary Sacrifice and just want to make sure the information being provided is the most up to date? @kerry63 @leighdunscombe

@kerry63 when you say they will need the Bendigo Bank application form too, do you need to complete both? Must admit I've only filled in the salary sacrifice form.
