Wow - I had not realised that BBX was so big - and that they are in the UK offering (what seems to me) like a UK wide mutual credit proposition exactly as we aim to... I guess they are not a co-op? Does anyone know anything else about their ownership and governance structure?

If their UK network is working it would imply that aiming for the whole of the UK (rather than smaller local regions) is a viable plan.

Yes, the UKMCC should be nationwide to maximize the trading possibilities by tapping deep into the supply chain or retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, basic commodity producers, and ,of course, employees and professional service providers, but I think governance should be decentralized to the nodes, which may be geographically based, or communities of interest, or established affinity groups.

Do we (or rather, will we) have any other USPs (other than co-op ownership) over https://bbxuk.com/ ?? Does anyone know a member of BBX? I'd love to talk to someone who has used it to see what they think of the company, the directory, the app, the service etc

Yes, there is competition, but we can improve in many ways on what they do. We have a different set of objectives that reach farther than financial profit, we are motivated by different values, we are building a new economy which also has political implications.

Another wow for me is https://mybc.bartercard.com which lets you see what is on offer in the UK through the network (make sure it says UK in the top right of the screen) then search for something obvious like "food" in "london"

this is a great example of how a directory can be really annoying, this link will take you to a page which is supposed to just show just members offering "accommodation" in the UK, but it shows all sorts of services which mention other words to do with accommodation in their descriptions.. and things outside the UK... https://mybc.bartercard.com/#/directory/results/what/Accommodation%20(All%20types)/where/United%2520Kingdom
