loomio.coop and the coop marque

Thanks @mikeshaw ! We are very proudly a worker-owned cooperative. We have registered the Loomio.coop domain. Up to now, we have not had the resources to develop a website to live there, though.

In past discussions we decided to start using loomio.coop as we developed users in that market space, which of course we now have. What we dont have yet is a clear strategy to grow this segment of our users so until that time we probably will roll with what we have. Really looking forward to using it though:)

Is that me or the loomio logo already state that it's a coop?

As an aside Loomio's company registration in NZ as a coop, and specifically as a workers cooperative is a first in NZ as the legislation is framed quite oddly to make this less than straightforward. Because the constitution is a public document - it means that other workers coops that form will have a huge chunk of work that they can re-use and adopt for themselves - a real gift to the sector.

Thanks @mikeshaw for alerting the Loomios to the international coop mark! Anna, my workers' coop researched and developed/designed the mark, I'd be very happy to share tips with you if and when you're ready to use it. It would be utterly amazing if you could consider integrating it with the Loomio brand.

@vivienmaidaborn - think it would be a bad idea to split groups between domains depending on which is most useful - I use loomio both for co-ops I'm in and also community organisations that aren't co-ops and I'd be scuppered if I were having to shift some of that activity over to a different identical platform.

also don't see any harm from making other organisations use a .coop domain to use loomio even if they don't identify as one, just seems like more exposure for the marque to me..

As a starting point, it would be great if loomio.coop forwarded to our main website. @benjaminknight I think you registered it? Maybe this is something @richarddbartlett could sort out for the upcoming website refresh?

Using loomio.coop for your email address also gives a strong message that Loomio is a worker-owned cooperative.
