What s the shortfall, on average per month?

As a one-off, or an occasional thing, a garage sale could work, it could help get rid of a lot of the clutter.

It would be great if we could have more meetup sessions to bring in people to do activities electronics/programming etc. Need more champions to run it.

Sausage sizzle at Bunnings -- probably not a solution for the immediate need as I think they may need to be booked way in advance, but could be a good thing to try in the future while maybe also getting some more people to hear about Hackland that way.

no consensus reached - explore other options
To build up a survival buffer, we could offer year long memberships for say $500

I think this will be good - happy to oversee extra admin for tracking all the time stuff

Really depends on the level of discount offered -- $500/year is a discount of ~35%, which I think is way too high. It will help with cash flow now, but at the expense of getting even less money in overall and putting us in a worse position 6 months down the line. Something like $700/year might be sustainable. Overall though I think we should try to approach this as motivating people to chip in to keep Hackland alive, rather enticing them with a cheaper membership deal.

rent party was common in NYC: you have an event every month to make up the shortfall- this could be a market where everything’s made and donated or a day where everyone refurbished bikes for sale (or whatever) key is the whole community comes together to donate their time and convert that into money
