Monte's Agreement

NJJ Nijil Jamal Jones Public Seen by 8

We agree that worker-owners are not required to attend meetings, to vote or participate in educational programming. Only those that commit to meetings, voting or education will be accountable for that work.

Team members that choose not to participate simply empower those other people that are involved to exchange ideas, reach decisions and expand their minds, without their specific participation.

Monte's Agreement as an acknowledgement that people can exercise consent by choosing not to participate in meetings, voting or education, and can still contribute positively to the cooperative.

This Agreement is named after a respected worker-owner, Monte, that never attended a meeting.

Yes, because I, for one, am operating multiple streams of income to provide for myself. I can only commit to what works around my schedule. Furthermore, if notes are taken, anyone should be able to see what, if anything they missed. Especially with all this technology. If we are to be present and AVAILABLE to do the necessary work, let us get busy with more WORK and less talk. Just my humble opinion.

I like this and I'm glad we are honoring Monte. I also think that each individual will need to have their own set of commitments to the coop, and whether or not that needs to include meetings, or any other particular, is dependent on the situation so it makes sense that it is flexible.
